Swimmers and Parents,
Come join us for a fun weekend of fierce swimming competition and lively conversation with some of our 2011 Deaf World Champions, along with other deaf swimmers! This meet will also serve as a proving ground for upcoming Deaflympics and other international deaf swim meets.
Attached please find the meet entry form for the meet and TM file for coaches to submit your entries. Be sure to enter quickly and to have your coaches note on the subject line DEAF SWIMMER
. ALSO, be sure to cc email@example.com
when submitting entries. We need a general head count for those competing. We are also looking into blocking a group of rooms at a local hotel. Let us know if you will be requiring rooms. Forward this information to all your deaf swimmer friends. The meet website can be found here: 2012 KING July Invite
You will also have an opportunity to be interviewed/filmed for a documentary on deaf swimmers currently in production. The producers, Amanda and Stephen, will be at the meet, camera's in hand to talk to you about your journey and your goals as a deaf athlete. Follow the link below, and enter the password provided to see a short compilation of video clips from the documentary. Please be aware, since this is a work in process, there is currently no captioning.
Amanda Salem and Stephen Fell's documentary follows swimmers on their journey to the 2013 Deaflympics. So far, they have profiled Jazmin Hernandez and Samantha Elam, but are hoping to expand the story to include other swimmers. They will be filming at the July meet in Seattle. If you are interested in participating, or would like more information, please feel free to email them at firstname.lastname@example.org. The attached video link is a compilation of sample clips from the documentary, which is currently in production.
Break out your RED, WHITE & BLUE and join the fun!
